# Snipboard

> Snipboard is a native, local-first Mac notes app built around screenshots.

Snipboard keeps screen captures beside the thoughts they support. A user presses a configurable global shortcut, selects any pixels, and the result is copied to the clipboard immediately and inserted at the cursor in the selected Note. If no Note is selected, Quick Captures keeps the image safe. Captures can be previewed, copied again, saved, annotated, searched with on-device OCR, or framed for sharing with backgrounds, padding, rounded corners, and shadow. Framing never changes the original.

Notes are the primary workspace. Snips are inline attachments rather than separate projects that must be filed. Captures provides one global browser for every screenshot. Canvas is an optional spatial view for arranging content from a Note when free placement and connections are useful; ordinary note-taking never requires it.

Content stays on the Mac by default. Private CloudKit sync is optional. Version 1 does not use a third-party AI provider.

Snipboard for Mac is sold for $19 USD as a one-time, non-expiring personal license with up to three concurrent Mac activations. Dodo Payments is the Merchant of Record. It sends the license key to the checkout email after payment, and the purchase confirmation page can also show the key immediately when Dodo includes it in the checkout return. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.

The current Mac release is Snipboard 1.2.0. Customers can download it from https://snipboard.space/updates/Snipboard-1.2.0.dmg after purchase or when reinstalling an existing license.

The Mac app includes native automatic updates powered by Sparkle 2. Users choose whether to enable quiet daily checks, can check manually from the app or menu-bar menu, and retain control over installation and relaunch. Update packages use Apple code signing plus Sparkle EdDSA verification.
